What Engrowth is
Engrowth is an English vocabulary app built for real reading: photograph or import a page → recognize English text → look up words → save personal cards → train and review.
Contextual lookup
Look up meanings, pronunciation, and examples with the sentence you were reading. Online queries use HTTPS. Published content is verified before display.
Personal cards
Cards and learning progress are stored on your phone by default. You can start learning without signing in.
Training & review
Practice with your own cards and spaced review so looked-up words become remembered words.
Optional cloud restore
With Sign in with Apple, you can upload a passphrase-encrypted learning backup for reinstall or device change. The server stores ciphertext only and does not include camera photos.
Privacy & safety (summary)
- Camera / Photos: used only when you choose to capture or pick a reading image for OCR study.
- Account: optional. Used for encrypted cloud backup restore. You can delete the cloud account and backups in the app.
- Current public version: no forced subscription and no in-app purchases.
